Short answer

A lead generation specialist builds and runs the system that turns advertising spend into enquiries: the ads, the landing pages, the tracking and the follow-up. The measure is not clicks or impressions but enquiries you can quote or book, at a cost per enquiry that leaves you a margin. If you want a person accountable for that number, rather than a team handing it around, that is what this page is about.

What a lead generation specialist does

Lead generation sounds like one task. It is six, and a gap in any of them is where budget quietly disappears.

Finds people already looking

Google Search puts you in front of someone typing the exact problem you solve, at the moment they want it solved.

Google Ads management

Reaches people who have not started looking

Meta puts finished work and a clear offer in front of the right local audience before they search.

Meta Ads management

Gives them somewhere to land

A page built for the specific ad and audience, with proof near the call to action and a form that is easy to finish.

Tracks every enquiry

Calls, forms and bookings are tied to the campaign that produced them, so you can see what the money did.

Filters before it reaches you

Ad wording, form questions and area checks keep time-wasters out of your inbox and off your phone.

Qualifying leads

Reports in plain English

A weekly view of spend, enquiries and cost per enquiry, with what changed and what happens next.

Specialist, expert, agency, freelancer: what the labels mean

People use these words loosely. What matters is who actually touches your account and how they are paid.

Who runs your accountWatch for
Lead generation specialistOne named person who builds and manages the campaignsCapacity: how many accounts they run at once
Lead generation expertUsually the same thing with a longer track recordAsk for real figures, not adjectives
AgencyA team: sales, account manager, junior doing the workThe person you meet is rarely the person who runs it
FreelancerOne person, often a single platformTracking, pages and follow-up may be left to you

Edward Eaton Marketing sits in the first row: one specialist, both platforms, pages and tracking included.

How a lead generation engagement runs

The first 90 days follow the same order on every account, because the order is what stops money being wasted.

1

Week 1: the numbers and the tracking

Where leads come from today, what a customer is worth, what you can afford per enquiry. Call and form tracking goes in before any money is spent.

2

Weeks 2 to 4: the first campaigns

Google Search for people already looking, Meta for people who have not started looking yet, each pointing at a page built for that audience.

3

Weeks 4 to 8: cut waste, find winners

Search terms, audiences and ads that burn budget are removed. What is working gets more of it.

4

Weeks 8 to 12: scale what pays back

Enquiries are matched to real customers, so budget moves to what produces revenue and not just form fills.

Real accounts behind the advice

Figures come straight from the ad platforms. Client names are withheld on request.

Common questions

What does a lead generation specialist cost?

There are no fixed packages. After a free consultation I quote against your goals and the work involved. Ad spend is paid directly to Google and Meta, and about £500 a month is the practical minimum, with £1,000 or more recommended. I ask for a three month minimum so the work has time to compound.

Is a lead generation specialist different from an agency?

Usually in who does the work. With a specialist, the person you speak to is the person in your ad account. With many agencies the account is split between a salesperson, an account manager and a junior.

How quickly will I get leads?

Search campaigns can produce enquiries in the first weeks, but tracking and the first round of cuts take a month or two to settle. Results depend on your market, offer and price, so I do not promise numbers before there is data.

Do you guarantee a number of leads?

No. Nobody can honestly guarantee that before an account has run. What I can promise is clear tracking, plain-English reporting and decisions based on the figures.

What businesses do you work with?

Service businesses in healthcare and physiotherapy, home improvement and the trades, hospitality, venues and events, based in Lancashire and working UK-wide.
