No one is best for everybody, and anyone who says otherwise is selling. What you can do is choose the marketer whose track record, process and accountability fit your business. Here is how.

The best marketer for a service business is one who has produced measurable enquiries for businesses like yours, who personally runs your account, tracks every call and form, and reports in plain English. Look for real figures from similar sectors, a named person accountable for the work, ownership of your own ad account, and no guarantees about results before data exists. Fit matters more than any league table.
Put these to every candidate, including me. The answers sort the field quickly.
| Ask | A good answer | A bad sign |
|---|---|---|
| Who will actually run my account? | A named person, with the number of accounts they manage | 'Our team will look after you' |
| Can I see real figures from similar businesses? | Platform screenshots with dates, spend and cost per result | Percentages with no spend, or only testimonials |
| How will you track enquiries? | Calls and forms tracked to the campaign, plus a way to mark good leads | 'We track clicks and impressions' |
| How do you report? | Spend, enquiries and cost per enquiry, in plain English, on a schedule | A monthly PDF of reach and impressions |
| What happens to my ad account if we part? | You own the account and the data | The agency owns the account |
| What do you promise? | Clear process and honest ranges once data exists | Guaranteed leads, sales or ROI before anything has run |
The right marketer for a clinic is not necessarily the right one for a roofer.
| Sector | What good looks like | Proof to ask for |
|---|---|---|
| Home improvement | Quotable leads, not cheap leads. Understands long consideration, finance and surveys. | Cost per lead and per sale on jobs of your size |
| Healthcare | Knows Google and Meta health policy, writes to the service and not the condition. | Policy-aware ads and cost per booked appointment |
| Hospitality | Fills specific nights and events. Tracks to the cover, room or ticket. | A campaign tied to bookings or ticket sales |
| Trades | Separates emergency from planned work. Cares about call handling. | Call tracking and missed-call reporting |
| Lead generation in general | Owns the whole path: ad, page, form and follow-up. | Cost per enquiry and what happened next |
Fit works both ways. I am not the right choice for everybody.

Five stars, from the people it was done for.
★★★★★"Edward is an expert in his field and has only brought a driven attitude to provide quality results."
★★★★★"It was a pleasure working with Edward on our project. We were new to Google Ads and he walked us through it step by step, with insight that would have taken us a while to figure out. We'll definitely be using Edward again."
★★★★★"Eddy was the man. He answered all my questions and was very knowledgeable."
One with real home improvement figures, who can talk about quotes, finance and surveys and not only leads. Ask for cost per lead and per sale on jobs of your size.
One who understands Google and Meta health policy and the CAP Code, and can show appointment-level tracking.
One who ties ads to specific nights, events, covers or rooms, not to clicks.
Neither is always better. A specialist suits you if you want one accountable person. An agency suits you if you need many services together.
Ask for dated platform screenshots, spend and cost per result, and a reference you can phone. Treat percentages with no spend as marketing.
Send a few details. You will get an honest view, including if someone else would suit you better.
We're a fit if you're already generating business, can handle more leads, and have a monthly ad budget of £500+ (£1,000+ recommended). We ask for a 3-month minimum so the work has time to compound.
