Lead generation for aesthetic and cosmetic clinics

Aesthetics is one of the most tightly policed areas in online advertising. Clinics that get steady consultations build the campaign around the consultation and the practitioner, not the product.

Short answer

In the UK, prescription-only medicines such as botulinum toxin cannot be advertised to the public, and Google and Meta restrict before-and-after imagery and body-image targeting in cosmetic categories. Aesthetic lead generation therefore works by advertising the consultation and the practitioner, putting treatment education on the landing page, and tracking each enquiry through to a booked consultation.

Where the enquiries come from

Where aesthetic enquiries start

Treatment-curious searches

“Facial treatments near me”, “skin clinic”, “acne treatment”. Searchers who have a goal and are comparing clinics. Search ads and one strong page per treatment area.

Social discovery

Instagram and Facebook introduce people to treatments they were not searching for yet. Creative has to educate and reassure without the claims platforms reject.

Reputation and recommendation

Reviews, Google Business Profile and word of mouth decide the final choice. Ads work harder when the profile and reviews back them up.

What to avoid and what to build

The mistakes that get aesthetic ads rejected

What gets ads rejected or wastes spend

  • Naming prescription-only products, or pricing them, in ads
  • Before-and-after images as the lead creative
  • Copy that plays on insecurities (“fix your...”)
  • Sending all traffic to a price list
  • Free consultations with no qualifying question

What works

  • The consultation as the offer
  • Practitioner credentials and registration shown clearly
  • Realistic outcomes wording with no guarantees
  • Consent-based testimonials
  • Safety and aftercare information on the page

What you can and cannot advertise

A practical cross-check before any aesthetic ad goes live. Rules change, so confirm against the current policies.

  • Landing pages with credentials, safety information and a simple consultation form

The first 90 days

How the first three months run

Compliance and tracking come first, because a restricted account costs more than a slow start.

1

Weeks 1 to 2: compliance review

Check current copy, images and landing pages against platform policy and UK advertising rules.

2

Weeks 2 to 4: launch one treatment area

A consultation-led Search campaign and a policy-safe Meta test, each with its own page.

3

Weeks 4 to 8: measure booked consultations

Connect enquiries to consultations, trim wasted searches and refine the form.

4

Weeks 8 to 12: expand carefully

Add treatment areas and audiences that the numbers support, staying inside the rules.

FAQ

Common questions

Can aesthetic clinics advertise on Facebook and Instagram?

Yes, within Meta's rules. Ads must not imply you know the viewer's condition, before-and-after imagery and unrealistic claims are restricted, and cosmetic procedure ads face age restrictions. Check the current policy before launch.

Can I advertise botulinum toxin or other prescription-only treatments?

Not to the public in the UK. Prescription-only medicines cannot be advertised, and that includes naming the product in an ad. Advertise the consultation with a qualified prescriber instead.

Is Google Ads worth it for an aesthetic clinic?

For clinics with a clear treatment offer, search ads can capture people ready to book a consultation. Because patient value varies a lot between treatments, work out what a consultation is worth before setting budget.

How do aesthetic clinics get more consultations?

By making the consultation the offer, showing practitioner credentials and reviews, using Search for people looking now and Meta for awareness, and responding to enquiries quickly.

Do you use before and after photos in ads?

Not as the lead creative. They are restricted on Meta and risky elsewhere, so the approach is education, practitioner introductions and what to expect at a consultation.

What is aesthetic clinic lead generation?

It is the system that turns searches and social attention into booked consultations: compliant ads, treatment pages, a simple form and tracked results.
